Bob has a fantastic ability to understand and combine his expertise of the physical complexities of the human body with the PGA Professional’s trained eye with respect to the complexities of the golf swing.  Bob offers a refreshing angle that most amateur and professional golfers can understand and embrace.  Many times, a golfer will have physical limitations that prevents him or her from moving the way the PGA Professional is trying to instruct.  Bob can take the golfer’s weakest physical traits and focus a training program to better overcome those obstacles and allow the golfers to ultimately improve their swing.

Until I started this program I never realized the positive impact of stretching and how important it is to general fitness.  I have always been active but have never done stretching exercises. The weather has been so miserable that I have no good evaluation of my golf game.  Two rounds with temps in the 40's, wind and wet is not a good basis for comparison.  I have maintained a regular schedule of exercises. I can do most at home and the balance at the fitness center.  I am more flexible and can complete the routine with ease except for the crunches. Overall I can feel a difference in walking, bending and overall general welfare.  I feel very positive about the program and plan to stay with it.

Westchester is one of the Country’s largest private clubs with a membership that has high expectations for service and performance.  Bob Forman’s seminar on golf specific fitness and flexibility was extremely well received and motivated many of my members to begin a program of evaluation, exercise and follow-ups.  I highly recommend Bob for his knowledge, energy , and ability to connect with amateurs concerning golf fitness.

Our Club Membership has found Mr. Forman’s informative lectures and private sessions very beneficial for improving their golf game.  From simple balance exercises that aid in distance and direction of the ball flight to more intensive directions as they recover from injuries and surgeries, Mr. Forman has added skills to their regular training regimen that have provided positive results on the course.

All the exercises are coming along great I am really pleased with my results so far. I see a definite improvement on my shoulder rotation as well as a big improvement on my glute strength.  Overall I feel a lot stronger through my core as well as my total body and I see a big difference in my flexibility. Since I have returned I have lost a total of 6 pounds just doing these exercises they are fantastic.  I think these exercises are great for life in general.

I had been experiencing lower right side back pain for a couple of months that was so bad that I was not able to play and experienced constant pain.  During that period I saw a Chiropractor, Orthopedic, Acupuncturist, and a Massage Therapist and nothing helped.  I had an evaluation with Bob and he developed a program for me and told me that if I would do the exercises on a regular basis that he felt it would solve my back problem.  I have been doing the exercises every day for 3 months and not only has my back pain gone away, but it has definitely helped my golf game.  It is amazing how much more flexible I am now and how much easier my other daily activities are now.

Thanks for the exercises, Bob.  Everything is going great.  I’m having a lot more fun with these workouts than I did with my old ones (before seeing you).  I like the pace better than doing 3 sets of each exercise, but I still do work in some of my old stuff.  I’m getting better at the X-factor stuff.  I think it is actually helping me with hitting it further.

Kelley said my impact position is the best it's ever been and I haven't been practicing so I said it was the hip work we've been doing.  Very pleased!!

Exercises are great. Last week I received a ball and band from my daughters and have added those 4 exercises with the ball and band. The other exercises have made me feel like I have more flexibility and stamina. Also, my hip pain seems to be decreasing as time goes by. Since I have just started with the ball and band, I can't comment on the possible increase in strength, but I do seem to hit the ball slightly further and more consistent with the distance. Thanks for your help and I will update later.

The exercises have been great.  I am getting stronger and more flexible and it has not been a terrific sacrifice to keep with it.  It does seem to be helping the golf as well since my handicap is (gradually) coming down.  All in all, very good.  Thanks.

I am getting stronger every day.  I have gotten my golf score to 96.. which is much better than the 100’s.  Thanks so much for your assistance and knowledge.

I must say things are going very well.  I have worked out my routine to every third day with stationary bike 20-30 mins., 2-3 times weekly.  I’m playing golf two to three times a week.  Bob, since I have been doing the stretching, my hip has not been bothering me nearly as much.  We both know what proper exercise can do, and with my arthritis, so much the more.

I am an avid golfer who had a wakeup call a couple of years ago. I had a chance to play a US Open course & was excited about the opportunity.  It rained the day before & we were forced to walk that day with caddies. I had not exercised in quite a few years & hadn't walked a golf course in many years. About two thirds through the round my back was killing me & I was basically tuckered out & unable to enjoy the experience. After a physical I learned that my blood pressure & heart rate were above normal & I had gained weight.  I decided I didn't want to have my life style limited by those issues.

I committed to an exercise program to improve my health & enjoyment of my favorite game.  I signed up with Bob Forman & committed to the program he developed for me.  After two years there has been considerable improvement in my strength, flexibility and stamina. My resting blood pressure is around 138 over 81 & my heart rate is about 62, acceptable considering my age. I have lost about 15 pounds & I feel better. I can now walk 18 holes with no pain. I hope my experience helps someone else make a good decision about their health.

Fellow Golfers, My experience with Bob Forman’s strength and flexibility program has been so positive that I thought I would share some of the results.  Since starting with Bob in March, my ability to twist, turn and reach has improved significantly.  That combined with improved muscle tone has resulted in fewer aches and pains, improved posture, and an overall increase in general comfort level.  I am swinging the club much better and seeing a significant improvement in distance while swinging with less effort.  Also, my scores have improved significantly in recent weeks.  As a side benefit, I am a little quicker on the tennis court, but my game is still lousy.  I have also lost about five pounds and an inch or two in my waist.  I am thoroughly satisfied with the results of my investment in time and money.  I encourage each of you to consider meeting with Bob to determine if he can help you as well.  Best regards.

"I recently had the opportunity to attend a golf fitness clinic conducted by Bob Forman.  I found the clinic to be very informative, entertaining, as well as beneficial to my overall enjoyment of the game of golf. Bob's program helped me understand certain physiological weaknesses I have.  I would highly recommend this clinic."

Bob,
The new exercises are going fine. I want to thank you for motivating me to work on my golf fitness. I am exercising 3 times a week and  playing better golf. It's fun to be able to drive the ball up to and past guys who used to outdrive me.  Obviously it impressed them since several have now signed up for your program. An added benefit is that my increased time spent on golf fitness has benefited my overall health. I don't have some of the aches and pains I used. And that's not easy for a 60 year old guy to say. Thanks for your help.

Merry Christmas!!!

Hi Bob,I think I’m doing pretty good.  I have added some weights to open-book exercise, and I don’t have the cramps in back of legs that I had.  I really feel like I have some added mobility in my upper body and guess what??  I shot 100 at Sourwood Forest last week.  Something’s working.  Thanks!!

Hello Bob,The golf exercises are going great.  I am hitting the ball the best I have ever hit it.  My back pain has gone away also.
David R.

Hard to keep up with everything with my schedule, but I’m doing a good job of making sure I do the key ones we spoke about.  Not sure if that made a difference yet, but I wanted to relay that I shot the best round of my life a weekend ago – 67 from the mixed tees at Oak Hollow!!

EXERCISE OF THE MONTH

Quad-Hip Flexor Stretch

This is a progressive stretch for the quad-hip flexor area.  Be cautious as you lean back on the bench as it will challenge the knee if the quads are tight.  Avoid this stretch if you've had knee replacement.  Tight quads/hip flexors will impede hip mobility and that may rob you of power and distance.

Check with your physician before starting any type of exercise program.

HOST A WORKSHOP

If your Club or organization would like to host an informative golf fitness workshop, contact Bob at bob@golfitcarolina.com or 336-509-4610.

Bob came to my club and did a hour long session on the basics of his teaching and philosophy of fitness and how it relates to the golf swing and its performance.  My members thoroughly enjoyed the hour and wanted more.  I was impressed with his content and explanation.  My members were floored with his Q&A and his personal adaptation to their issues.  I was impressed with his interaction with attendants of the seminar.  If you are looking for someone to integrate your fitness program with the golf program, Bob is the guy to do it!  We will be booking Bob to come back to our club next spring.

"Bob Forman was fabulous!  He is a great presenter who shared some extremely valuable information related to how anatomical deficiencies such as: poor posture, flexibility, and balance impact our golf swing.  He not only shared what they are and how they impact the swing, but also demonstrated exercises to help correct them."
